Welcome to Chafford Hundred Dental Care
Dr Basrai provides family, restorative and cosmetic dentistry for patients across Chafford Hundred, Grays and Thurrock. Many of our patients have been with us for years, and many first came to us through a friend.
We are a boutique practice. We keep our daily numbers low so that every patient gets our full attention, and we explain every option and fee in writing before treatment starts.
We are also proud to offer a bespoke denture service through Changing Faces within our practice.

Most of our patients live within a few miles of Drake Road, in Chafford Hundred, Grays, South Ockendon, Aveley, Purfleet, West Thurrock, Lakeside, Tilbury and Stanford-le-Hope (RM15, RM16, RM17, RM19 and RM20). Anyone can book with us, wherever they live.

Which consultations are free?
Consultations for cosmetic treatment, clear aligners and implants are free. It's a free consultation (a £20 holding deposit secures your slot, and it's taken off your treatment or refunded).
Who are the dentists at the practice?
Dr Jagmail (Dave) Basrai, LDS RCS (Eng) 1994, GDC 70304, leads the practice, and Dr Jasmin Basrai also works here as a dentist. If you'd like to see a particular dentist, mention it when you book.
Is the practice near a train station?
Yes. Chafford Hundred Lakeside station, on the c2c line between Upminster, Ockendon and Grays, is about 0.8 miles from the practice. If you're driving, there's on-site parking and M25 Junction 30 is about 1.5 miles away.
Are you open on bank holidays?
No. We're closed on bank holidays and Sundays. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (closed 1pm to 2pm for lunch), with Saturday appointments by arrangement.
I'm nervous about the dentist. Can you help?
Yes. Dr Basrai has trained in human psychology and behaviour to help ease dental fears. We start by listening, explain everything before we do it and go at your pace. Tell us you're nervous when you book.
Can I send a photo of my smile before I book?
Yes. Send a clear, smiling photo on WhatsApp to 07300 421405 with a note on what you'd like to change. It helps us prepare, but it isn't a substitute for an examination.
Can wheelchair users visit the practice?
The practice was set up for wheelchair access, with a disabled toilet and baby-changing facilities. Please call 01375 481000 before your visit if you have any access needs, so we can plan for you.
